The Special Rapporteur submits one report to the Human Rights Council in June and one report to the General Assembly in October every year. Professor Alston’s reports explore how poverty is a political choice rather than an inevitable outcome, current economic developments and debates, and how relevant players such as the human rights community and development finance institutions can improve their approaches to combating poverty and human rights violations around the world.
